About

Rakia unveiled

Rakia is widely known as the ‘National Spirit of the Balkans’. Whilst the traditional style of Rakia is known to be strong and robust, our new world 36 Short Gold Rakia has a rich aroma with a full-bodied, smooth mouthfeel with a hint of spice and a subtle sweet undertone due to the ageing and distillation process.

Our new world 36 Short White Rakia has smooth delicate flavour with subtle fruit with a clean fresh finish. It is a diverse spirit than can be enjoyed straight up or mixed in a cocktail as an easy drinking, refreshing alternative.

Distilling Rakia

In keeping with tradition, 36 Short Rakia is still made in a copper pot using our age old secret family recipe that has been passed down to us by our Father, Pando. Our Rakia is made with premium South Australian Shiraz sourced locally from McLaren Vale. The Rakia is made in a single distillation process using Shiraz, which brings out the best qualities of the wine. Once the distillation is complete, the Rakia is rested for two months before being bottled for everyone to enjoy.
